Hi :D

In FlipAlbum 5 Pro, go to Tools>Shopping Cart>Setup and choose the Additional Charges tab.

Add the tax percentage you need under Tax Charges. This will work if the percentage is the same for all items or the total order.

Hope this helps

Sales Tax Question

Postby LuvlyDuchess » Fri Sep 05, 2003 12:05 am

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for your reply...however I will be shipping to ALL Of The USA. I want to charge sales tax to customers in South Carolina. (ONLY) Not any other State. I Can't find a way to charge 5% to SC Residents Only. If I go to Tools>Shopping Cart>Setup and choose the Additional Charges tab.
Add the tax percentage you need under Tax Charges that will charge the Residents in CA the 5% sales tax also. Correct? :?

Thanx for all your help Sharon :)

Okay, but your first message wasn't entirely clear (at least to me).

When you want to use different rates for tax or for shipping you need to make an extra page in your album. Set up your shopping cart with the tax rates you want to use and have your customer choose the correct one - or just add a note to your page(s) explaining that additional charges for tax will be charged according to point-of-purchase or delivery destination (in addition to their order).

I have individual pricing items setup for different shipping methods. These are on a page by themselves and the customer only sees them if they are on this page or choose to view all items.

I probably have more fun because I have to set up different albums for different countries because the currency changes  For countries outside of Norway, Customs adds the tax depending on point-of-purchase. In Norway, we have a flat tax rate for the entire country (24%). Might have been easier if we charged tax on point-of-sale.

Sales Tax Question?

Postby LuvlyDuchess » Sat Sep 06, 2003 1:28 am

Hi Sharon,

This is what I decided to do...Made an extra page Titled: South Carolina Sales Tax
We are required to charge sales tax to deliveries to SC. If you live in SC please pay the TOTAL AMOUNT of your order.

Another State Please pay the SUBTOTAL AMOUNT of your order

I think if we had a % option on our package types, so this could be an option for SC customers. What do you think Sharon? Think this could work?

Thanx for listening :-) :)

I think it will depend on what method your customers are paying for the merchandise. PayPal? Credit Card? Check?

What are the firms income tax liability and its after tax income? What are the company's marginal and average. The Tally Corporation had a taxable income of $365,000 from operations after all operating costs but before (1) interest changes of $50,000, (2) dividends received of $15,000 (3) dividends paid of $25,000 and (4) income taxes. What are the firms income tax liability and its after tax income? What are the company's marginal and average tax rates on taxable income?

The questions you are asking here would be best answered by a CPA or tax lawyer.
